  • Iznes revolutionises Engie's cash investments

    Engie's financial teams recently completed the deployment of the Iznes platform, whose blockchain technology has enabled them to considerably optimise their short-term cash investment process. Thanks to this tool, the company has also freed itself from very high custody fees. For Engie's treasury department, and more particularly the department dedicated to the company's short-term liquidity, the year 2020 will have been placed under the seal of innovation. After several months of work, the department recently completed the deployment of the pan-European blockchain platform Iznes, dedicated to the execution and processing of investments in money market funds. This initiative was awarded first prize at the group's fourth Finance Awards.

    IZNES chosen by the Banque de France to carry out transactions on fund shares for the first time in central bank digital money. As part of the experimental programme led by the Banque de France, more than ten fund share transactions, for a total amount of more than EUR 2 million, were carried out in December 2020 on the IZNES platform using central bank digital money (MNBC). This is the first settlement of fund shares using MNBC.

    Generali et le Groupe APICIL entrent au capital d’IZNES, plateforme paneuropéenne d’achat et de vente d’OPC[1] utilisant la technologie blockchain. Créée en 2017 par un consortium de six sociétés de gestion, IZNES est aujourd’hui soutenue par deux nouveaux investisseurs de renom qui entrent à son capital : Generali et le Groupe APICIL, via son fonds dédié Insurtech Capital. Ils deviennent respectivement le premier assureur et le premier groupe de protection sociale à entrer au capital de la Fintech. Ce partenariat stratégique donne un coup d’accélérateur au développement d’un nouvel écosystème en blockchain pour le traitement des opérations sur OPC.
